The Virgen María del Milagro School and Kindergarten (EVMM) is an educational institution located in the center of Desamparados, Costa Rica. It was founded in 1980 by teacher María Milagro Camacho Bermúdez, with the initial goal of offering childcare services to help families who needed childcare while they worked or studied.

 

Over time, the school evolved and was renamed "El Ratoncito Feliz" (Happy Mouse) and then "Escuela María Milagro" (María Milagro School). In 1987, it became the first private school in the Desamparados area to be approved by the Costa Rican Ministry of Public Education. This approval meant that the institution met the educational standards and requirements established by the government to provide quality education.

 

Beginning in 2001, the EVMM began implementing native language programs in its curriculum. This focus on English language learning has allowed students to develop outstanding English proficiency, giving them a significant advantage in their academic training and future employment opportunities.

 

In addition to its focus on the English language, the school stands out for fostering the experience of moral, ethical, and religious values among its students.
